My worst nightmare when it comes to using an ATM is coming true apparently! If you have a "tap" debit card then be aware of this!
Do you “tap” your debit card when you’re at an ATM? Well, tapping your card works differently than using the slot. After the machine dispenses cash, the transaction window stays open. If you don’t notice this, the next person can step up to the ATM and makes further withdrawals. In fact, it’s becoming a big scam. Some thieves are putting glue in ATM slots so customers have to tap. Sometimes, they’ll stand behind you and say “oh, the slot is broken, you have to tap.” And as soon as you get your money and walk away, they jump in.
