Have You Ever Made A "Foodie Call?"

With money being tight for many people, some singles are hitting up dating apps like Hinge and Bumble not for love, but for free food! Are you guilty of this because if I was single, I would probably do this too!

It’s become this thing called a “foodie call” where people (especially women, but not just them) will go on dates purely so they don’t have to cook—like grabbing coffee or dinner just to dodge meal-prepping.

There are even TikTok videos where people laugh about going on dates to score meals, and it’s kind of wild how normalized it’s getting as a budget hack!

This trend isn’t exactly new... studies from a few years back already showed that about a third of women had booked dates just for free grub.

But with rent and food prices piling up... especially in pricey cities like Los Angeles you’ve got people openly admitting they’ll go on date-after-date as a meal plan.

I know it’s unethical and messed up to use people for free food but also, you never know if it could actually turn into something more... So I say, go on as many dates as possible!
