TikTok Wants You To Help You Wind Down Before Bed

Have you heard about TikTok's latest move? They're introducing a new feature called "Meditation in Sleep Hours" aimed at helping teens manage their screen time and get better sleep.

So, if you're under 18 and using TikTok after 10pm, the app will automatically pause your scrolling and lead you through a guided meditation…to help you wind down.

If you keep scrolling after the meditation, it'll give you another gentle nudge to take a break.

Adults can opt into this feature too in settings. TikTok says this is part of their broader effort to support mental health…

But here's the kicker—this comes at a time when TikTok is facing serious legal challenges.

A bunch of states (including California) are suing TikTok saying the app’s been messing with kids' mental health and collecting their info without asking. Even the Justice Department and the FTC are jumping in, claiming TikTok’s been breaking privacy rules and making the app way too addictive for teens.

TikTok’s like, “Nope, we’ve got safety stuff in place,” but the timing of this new bedtime feature feels a little too perfect—like they’re trying to clean up their image while the heat’s on.
