Okay, so get this…L.A. is going full Jetsons for the 2028 Olympics.
Instead of sitting in that usual traffic nightmare, they’re bringing in electric air taxis to zip people around the city!
Yessssss, actual flying taxis!
The company’s called Archer Aviation, and their sleek little aircraft named “Midnight” can take off vertically and fly folks from LAX to SoFi or the Coliseum in like 10–20 minutes.
A couple years ago... we talked about air taxis being a possibility in LA and now it’s actually going to happen!
It’s all part of this “car-free Olympics” vibe they’re going for. You’ll be able to book it like an Uber, but probably with a bougie price tag. ($100-$200 per ride) Still, way cooler than sweating it out on the 405.
And it’s not just for the VIP crowd—these flying cabs might even help with security or emergencies during the Games.
They’re aiming to have about 50 of these things flying around, and while they still need the FAA’s official stamp of approval, the goal is to have everything cleared by the end of 2025.
Honestly, I’m not even mad. If it means cutting down on L.A. traffic... I’m in. And how exciting to see these things zipping around overhead!
