A woman who recently gave birth revealed her baby girl’s name on TikTok, and let’s just say a recent TikTok trend probably encouraged her baby’s name.
Demure
Being very demure and very mindful is a trend that took over social media in late summer. Basically, we all transitioned from Brat Summer (thank you, Charli XCX) to Demure Autumn.
Anyway, she posted “Meet DeMure. See how she not crying! Very sweet, very cutesy, very demure.”
The Dictionary defines demure as “modest, reserved, or serious.” It’s been used on social media to correlate to mindfulness and a relaxing attitude.
The demure trend took off after a video from TikTok user joolieannie on Aug. 2nd. In the video, which has more than 50 million views, she explains how to be “demure and mindful” at work.
But this poor mom is getting roasted for naming her baby after a TikTok trend.
I actually think the name is kinda cute! But yeah, the true meaning could hinder the baby’s personality.
