Have you ever been in an argument with someone and felt like the two of you were speaking different languages? Could be because you have different stress languages.
Essentially, your Stress Language is the way you respond to challenging situations.
There are five categories of stress languages…which one are you?
· The Imploder: This is a “freeze” response to a stressful situation. You feel hopeless, helpless and paralyzed.
· The Exploder: This is a “fight or flight” response to a stressful situation. You get irritable, frustrated or angry, or even just leave a situation that they can’t handle.
· The Fixer: This is a people-pleasing approach, overstepping boundaries and even “mothering” people who aren’t your kids.
· The Numb-er: As in, you NUMB yourself to the outside world when things aren’t going well and distract yourself by overworking or overexercising.
· The Denier: This is “toxic positivity” in response to stress…you’re overly optimistic to avoid reality.
So, which one are you?
