What attracts you first to a person? Is it their physical appearance? How tall they are? Their face, their hair, their eyes???
A new dating trend is leaving all those obvious choices behind and it’s all about someone’s voice and how they speak. This is playing a much larger role in dating apps. Hinge is one of the latest dating apps to launch voice notes to its in-app messaging feature, adding another layer to the online dating experience and how we communicate with our matches.
They did this because they realized their users felt everything from annoyed to uncomfortable and even disgusted when they eventually met the person they matched with and heard their voice for the first time!
But this is why we can’t have nice things!
People are now, “voicefishing” – YES… this is a thing!!!!!
This means they are altering their accent, dialect or tone in an attempt to sound more sexy or desirable.
How do you know if you’re being voicefished? One huge sign is they only send you voice notes…instead of a phone call…so they can do short controlled messages.
Ugh, you can’t trust anyone anymore these days!
