Coachella fans... you are not going to like this.
Rumors have been swirling that the music festival - which was originally scheduled for April 2020, was then pushed to THIS month, October 2020 and then once again pushed to April 20201 - may be rescheduled once again.
The festival may get pushed to October 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Before you panic: here's what we know for sure.
The whole idea of the festival being moved once again, all the way to October 2021 started after Rolling Stone put out an article talking about the possibility. BUT, don't go canceling that AirBnB reservation for April yet! Because those reports are definitely not confirmed.
A source at Goldenvoice, which puts on the festival every year, has apparently said that the move to October 2021 is far from a done deal. The word is that the decision won't be made for at least about another month, but will come sometime before the end of the year.
The decision depends on how the coronavirus pandemic progresses through the rest of the year and whether or not Goldenvoice -- along with local and federal officials -- feels that the event can be safely staged in April.
But the way that the rumor started about the reschedule to October 2021? According to the source, the confusion likely came because performance contracts for artists playing in 2021 include language saying that if the April 2021 festival has to be postponed due to COVID-19, the replacement dates would be in early October.
I definitely don't think Coachella and Stagecoach will be able to happen in April, honestly. I wish they could! But it feels unlikely we will be able to have that many people in one place by then - even if we are in a totally different place with the pandemic.
Would you still go to Coachella if it's a whole year from NOW?!
