If you live alone and are missing human contact due to the current pandemic we are living through - which is keeping us all separate and unable to hug or even touch people outside those we live with - what would you give in order to alleviate some of the stress that comes from NOT being able to hug or cuddle with people?
For some, they're turning to online sessions with professional cuddlers.
While I generally find the idea of a professional cuddler odd to the begin with, I'm even more confused by how they can help virtually. But this IS a real profession and apparently it's working for those in need!
Though the profession typically revolves around touch, obviously, cuddlers have reportedly found a way to mimic some of the intimacy offered their clients from real in-person sessions through video chatting.
And it's keeping clients happy! They're saying, “there’s no substitution for human touch, but it definitely helps bridge the gap... I’m so thankful I’m able to cuddle myself.”
Those of us who have spouses or significant others who we are able to still experience human contact with should be really thankful right now!! Imagine living alone or with roommates who you don't hug and having no contact for this entire time... that's a LONG time and a LOT of human contact missed!
If you've been lonely, remember to stay in touch with friends and family - even if you can't hug them for real. It's so important we all do things to stay sane through this pandemic. We got this!
