People became aware of Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez's daughter Emme Maribel's talent recently when Marc had a proud dad moment and shared a video of the 11-year-old belting out Alicia Keys' 'If I Ain't Got You' during one of her mom, JLo's rehearsals.
Having two superstar parents makes it very understandable that Emme might have a supernatural music talent, but we were all still totally blown away by just how great her singing voice is.
And Marc is opening up about how both Emme and her twin brother Maxamillian "Max" David have a passion for music, and how he views the possibility of his kids growing up with musical aspirations.
“Music was a big part of my life growing up and I hope it does the same for [Emme] as it has done for me... And if that is what she wants to do… well, she should do it because she likes it, not because she has to. Not for fame, or popularity, or for likes.”
I mean, what a life lesson right there! I think this advice could be applied by all parents to all kids when they start having passions. Don't do something for the recognition or for "likes" on social media, do it, whatever it is, because you love the way it makes you feel!
He shared further:
“I asked Emme, ‘Why do you sing?’ And she said because she feels good... It’s the best response. I have another video of her at a rehearsal. It’s incredible.”
Incredible for SURE!
JLo also has opened up about if her kids become interested in the industry, and while she says she will support them and that "there's nothing I can do to to stop them" she did share that she will have some major rules:
“Just like my mom, I’m going to make them go to school and I’m going to let them make that decision when they’re old enough to make that decision... I don’t want them to be in the business at a young age.”
These are two awesome co-parents. But it keeping these young stars out of the spotlight might start getting more and more difficult!
