The Things Americans Are Likely To Spend Extra On

Have you ever really thought about the things you're more willing to spend money on as opposed to others?

I know, for me, when it comes to making sure my babies have quality diapers, formula and detergent for their clothes is important. But when I think about what my husband and I spend a little extra on for ourselves, no one thing really came to mind.

But a study was just done revealing exactly what those items are for most Americans - as well as the things that we're willing to go a little cheaper on!

I was pretty surprised by the answer, but they also make sense.

It turns out we're willing to spend a little more on: coffee, toilet paper and shoes.

I know, weird right? But when you really break it down, it makes perfect sense.

We all spend a little more than necessary on coffee because we're often willing to go out for coffee, plus I swear you can taste the difference in coffees! For toilet paper it's an obvious thing because HELLO, two-ply is so much better than that one-ply stuff they give you in public restrooms. And shoes, well, we all know that more expensive shoes are MUCH more likely to last you years of wear than those cheap shoes you might get 3-7 good wears out of.

As for the things we aren't willing to spend some extra on? Oddly enough, going out to eat is one of them!

I feel like sometimes I just get to the point where I really need a good meal out where we don't have to worry about dishes or cooking, but on the average day-to-day, I don't feel the need to splurge like crazy.

The other items we are more likely to save on include hand soap and wine.

Makes sense. In between certain price points on wine, there isn't a huge difference, and some times soap is just soap (unless you have a very specific hand soap that you love.)

What are the other things you're willing to spend more on and the things you often spend less on??
