Linkin Park Guitarist To Skip Comeback Tour

When the members of Linkin Park hit the road for their big comeback tour this month, they’ll do it without guitarist Brad Delson.

Delson has dropped out of the upcoming trek, saying he’d rather contribute to the band in a less-public capacity. “Over the years I’ve realized I thrive most when I’m actively working with my bandmates behind the scenes—in the studio, collaborating on our new music, and helping build our live show,” Delson says. Alex Feder has been tapped to replace him on tour, the band has announced.

The news means three new members will be part of Linkin Park when they embark on their comeback tour. Emily Armstrong has been brought in to replace late frontman Chester Bennington, and Colin Brittain has been hired to replace drummer Rob Bourdon.

'FROM ZERO' will be out Nov. 15.

Linkin Park 2.0 Off To Strong Start

Linkin Park’s new single, “The Emptiness Machine,” is off to a hot start on streaming services.

After being released last week as Linkin Park launched into a global livestream performance, “The Emptiness Machine” earned 2.22 million U.S. on-demand audio streams on Friday, its first full day of release.

The single hovered about one million U.S. audio streams over the next three days and ended its first full four-day stretch with 6.47 million streams, while also racking up over 6,000 in digital sales.

The band’s return is also boosting the band’s back catalog.

From Sept. 6-9, the band’s back catalog earned 30.11 million combined U.S. audio streams, which is a 62% increase compared to the same four-day period during the previous week.

That spike also included big week-over-week gains for hits like “Numb,” “One Step Closer,” and “Faint,” as fans heard new co-vocalist Emily Armstrong sing all three during the band’s livestream.
