Happy Friday! Jill has created a marvelous list of activities for a fun-filled weekend! Check out her suggestions below:
Knott’s Boysenberry Festival kicks off today at Knott’s Berry Farm. It’s happening each day through Sunday, April 16th. They do this every year and it celebrates the park’s historic roots by highlighting the little berry that started it all, the boysenberry. You can try one-of-a-kind food and drink items, see stage shows, local crafters, games, and much more.
SPRINGTOPIA – on Topanga Canyon Blvd in Woodland Hills. It’s a “Family Fun Fest” with over 200,000 square feet. There’s a light show, a life-sized pirate ship and 7 different immersive lands to explore.
Women’s History Month: Think Like a Zoologist at Hawaiian Gardens Library. Today from 4:00pm to 5:00pm and suggested for children aged 5-12. Advance registration is required.
Hermosa Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Downtown Hermosa Beach tomorrow. This is the 27th year and it will take place 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Free To Be Me Festival – at the Canyon Country Community Center in Santa Clarita tomorrow. It’s happening from noon to 3:00 pm and it’s free! It’s a festival that celebrates “our special needs community and their families through a series of inclusive and adaptive activities.” They will have live sensory-friendly entertainment, arts and crafts and a “chill zone” for those needing a calming space.
Also happening in Southern California this weekend:
Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend – so don’t forget to “spring ahead” Saturday night when you go to sleep. Move your clocks one hour forward.
It’s Oscars weekend! The 95th Academy Awards is happening on Sunday at Dolby Theatre in Hollywood which means if you’re in that area, there will be closures and lots of traffic.
