We're 2 months way from Halloween, but the Hershey Company warns that they're expecting a shortfall when it comes to seasonal candy this Halloween. Hershey says the cause of the shortage is due to pandemic-induced supply-chain disruptions and the war in Ukraine have crunched supplies of cocoa, edible oil, and other ingredients. The candy company says with these issues and trying to meet the demand during non-holiday periods, it will likely lead to a scarcity of seasonal candy during Halloween time and could possibly extend through December. A spokesperson for Hershey’s says,
"Consumers should not expect empty shelves, however, and everyday Hershey’s treats will be widely available, even if the specialty, holiday items are out of stock."
