Earlier this year, the Ventura County Fair announced that they would cancel the fair due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, officials will be leasing part of the fairgrounds in Ventura to Kastl Amusements to hold a small 12-day Summerfest from August 4th-15th. It will be held at the same place, the same time in August, and of course you'll get your fair fix with the food and rides. The event will likely feature 16 to 25 rides for adults and kids as well as offer food booths with corn dogs, popcorn, and more. According to co-owner of the California amusement company, Kay Kastl says,
"Obviously with the COVID times everything will be a little smaller, there will not be exhibits, concerts or livestock. Everyone is evolving and trying to figure what is doable for 2021."
Katl also noted that fair officials will act as property managers for Summerfest but will not run the event. Details including tickets and exact rules for masks and social distancing are still to be determined.
