You Can Make Dodgers Carne Asada Helmet Fries At Home!

Let's be real now that we're in June, we're really missing Dodgers games and stadium food like Dodger dogs, overpriced beer, garlic fries, soft serve, nachos, and of course carne asada helmet fries. Well until we can be at Dodger Stadium again, we can still enjoy Chef Merito's Dodgers helmet carne asada fries at home. You can see the ingredients and the directions below:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1-1/2 lb. Skirt, Flank or Loin Steak
  • 1 Tbsp. Chef Merito Steak & Meat seasoning
  • Vegetable Oil Spray
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 bag frozen french fries (prepare following the manufacturer’s cooking instructions) or 3 medium size potatoes cut lengthwise into wedges

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat broiler.
  2. Lightly spray a broiler pan and rack with vegetable oil spray.
  3. In a container, sprinkle evenly the Chef Merito Steak & Meat Seasoning over the meat.
  4. Let it marinade for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Place the steaks on one side of the rack of the broiler pan.
  6. In a medium bowl, mix potatoes with the oil.
  7. Arrange potatoes on the other side of the broiler pan.
  8. Broil both for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the steaks are medium rare to well done and the potatoes are tender, turning the steaks and potatoes once.
  9. Cut the steaks into small strips and in a small bowl or plate serve over the potatoes.
  10. Use approximately 3-4 oz. of steak with 3-5 oz. of potatoes.
  11. Garnish with chopped onions, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers and sour cream.
