Around Halloween time and the holidays, you might recognize Descanso Gardens from social media when you see all of the lights. However, on a normal day it's a beautiful garden where you'll instantly feel relaxed especially during spring. While businesses are slowly opening up, Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge is officially reopening on Saturday (5/16). They're making adjustments of course to make sure social distancing is in place for guests to still enjoy the spring blossoms. Along with social distancing rules applying, hand sanitizing stations will be available, and guests will be required to wear masks.
Parts of the gardens will remain closed until further notice such as: wheelchair rentals, drinking fountains, the Enchanted Railroad, Sturt Haaga Gallery and Boddy House. Musical performances and nature walks are also put on hold. The new hours will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. If you're a member, you'll have special access to the gardens from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Admission is $15 for adults; $11 for seniors and students; $5 for children ages 5 to 12; and free for ages 4 and younger. There's only a limited number of tickets available and you can get them online at DescansoGardens.org or by calling 818-949-4200. Members do not need tickets to visit the gardens.
