In the midst of the panic buying because of coronavirus fears, so many necessities like toilet paper has been flying off the shelves so elders can't get anything that they need. This is why several grocery stores have decided to reserve some shopping time to ensure they can get all of their necessities while avoiding the crowds. - Target is reserving the first shopping hour of every Wednesday to the elderly and those with underlying health concerns.
- Vons, Albertsons and Pavilions will reserve every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 to 9 a.m. For senior citizens, pregnant women and those with compromised immune systems.
- Whole Foods will open all their stores to customers who are 60 and older one hour before opening to the general public.
- Northgate Market All Northgate Market locations are reserving the first hour just for seniors and disabled customers.
- Vallarta Supermarkets will be open 7-8am for those 65 and older, pregnant women and those with disabilities.
- Super A Foods is reserving shopping from 7-8 a.m. for those 65 and older.
- Smart & Final will open from 7:30-8 a.m. for customers 65 and older and those with disabilities.
- Stater Bros. Markets All locations will open at 7:45 a.m. for seniors over 65 years old.
- Big Saver Foods will open from 7:30-8 a.m. for seniors over age 65.
- Walmart will give seniors 60 and older an hour of shopping before stores open every Tuesday. Walmart pharmacies and Vision Centers will also be open at this time.
- The city of Glendale is delivering groceries to senior citizens and to use the service just call 818-548-4814.
- In Moreno Valley, several stores will offer priority shopping times for seniors and the disabled:
- Winco, 12880 Day St., from 6:30-7 a.m.
- Costco, 12700 Day St., no waiting for disabled shoppers
- Smart & Final, 25050 Alessandro Blvd., seniors and disabled shoppers only from 7:30 to 8 a.m.
- Super Target, 12700 Eucalyptus Ave: Wednesdays, only seniors and disabled shoppers only from 7 to 8 a.m.
- Stater Bros., 25900 Iris Ave. and 14425 Moreno Beach, 11875 Pigeon Pass Rd, seniors 65 and older may shop from 7:45 to 8 a.m.
- Cardenas Markets, 25065 Sunnymead Blvd. and 14930 Perris Blvd, seniors, disabled, caregivers and first responders can shop from 7 to 8 a.m.
