When there are things you don't know in this life, it's probably best to not assume things... and to go find the answers to the questions you might have.
You can't let pride get in the way.
Especially if that pride might result in you burning down your house.
Let me explain...
When I was in Jamaica, I went to this spa with my partner and we had a couples massage... and I was so taken by the scent in the place that I wanted to bring it home with me. They were pumping this lemongrass essential oil through the lobby and, well, I inquired about it... and found that I could buy it and bring it home with me...
The thing is - it was one of those bottles which isn't like the small essential oil bottles which you put in a diffuser. It was one of those bottles which you take the lid off of and insert some sticks or whatnot so that they trigger and diffuse the scent.
I always thought they were like sticks of incense... you know, like the ones you light and burn in your place which put off some great smelling smoke. I had assumed the sticks would soak up the oils and that's how they got the fragrance to permeate the air in the room.
Seems I thought wrong.
I lit one of the sticks on fire. I take it the sticks are covered in plastic, because, as you can see in the photo from my Instagram above, the stick... which I tried to light on fire... started to melt.
That's when I realized I had no idea what I was doing... and went to Google. Then, I realized the sticks... are just sticks. And the more you use, the more of the fragrance gets diffused.
Who knew.
Not me.
The moral of the story: If you don't know what the sticks with some essential oils are for, don't assume they're incense which can be lit on fire... because you could burn down your house. Swallow your pride and go hit up Google and find the answers to the questions you are too proud to admit you have.
The more you know.
