#DATING: Bumble Is Opening Its Own Restaurant In NYC. Yup. That's right.

The dating app where women make the first move is about to have their own restaurant in New York City. It’s been a long time coming, but Bumble is finally set to open Bumble Brew later this month in downtown Manhattan.

The cafe had originally been slated to open in fall 2019, and it may have been a blessing in disguise that it didn’t happen pre-pandemic. The concept back then was to create a place where patrons could meet over “date-friendly” dishes meant for sharing and messy meals like twirly pastas weren’t on the menu. But the delay allowed Bumble to rethink the concept after the company realized what humans crave most these days is “genuine connection.

The new Bumble Brew seems to be all about approachability and spaghetti is back on the menu, along with other gourmet-inspired dishes. Julia Smith, Bumble’s head of brand partnerships, describes the cafe as a “safe space for healthy and equitable relationships and connections.” Bumble Brew’s launch is a “testing ground for future ways Bumble might naturally evolve.” And while there are no plans to open a second location just yet, if all goes well? The original expansion plan to open one in Austin, Texas - home to Bumble’s headquarters - could be back on the table.
