#LIFEHACK: Throw the KIDS a WELCOME TO SUMMER PARTY! #Parenting

From LIFEHACKER...

Kids are always excited about the end of the school year and the weeks of freedom they get, but this year? They’re beyond ready to ditch their face masks and Chromebooks and have some fun. And a “Welcome to Summer” party is the perfect way to kick off their vacay from school.

If your kid is still in school, you can start with taping a “finish line” to your doorway for them to cross on their last day of school. If school is already out, it’s time to plan that party. Maybe you’re comfortable inviting a few of their friends over and your festivities can be focused outside, but even if it’s just you and your little ones, a celebration is in order. And these ideas can get you started:

● String up some decorations - Balloons and streamers are cheap and easy to hang around the house or backyard.

● Have a picnic - Eat lunch in the backyard or plan their favorite meal for dinner/

● Break out the summer toys - Dust off the old ones or splurge on some new yard games and toys.

● Make a splash zone - Surprise your kids with water balloons, water shooters, a splash pad, inflatable sprinkler to run through or a Slip and Slide.

● Set up an obstacle course - They’ll have hours of backyard fun and all that running around will burn off some of their endless energy.

● Turn up the tunes for a dance party - Create a playlist everyone will enjoy and bust some moves. Bonus points for embarrassing your kids with your dancing.

● Have a water fight - Not only will the kids love it, it’s a good stress reliever for the whole family!
