#BLINGEMPIRE: Here are the PANDEMIC PLASTIC SURGERY procedures people crave

The global health crisis may have slowed show business down, but one celebrity plastic surgeon says his Hollywood clients are still staying ready for their close-ups.

Dr. Gabriel Chiu, a board-certified surgeon specializing in plastic and reconstructive surgery, runs Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery and stars in Netflix’s “Bling Empire” and he shares how the shift to virtual events has affected the demand for treatments and procedures.

Overall, Dr. Chiu says patients have been more diligent about their skin treatments and since so many events are happening virtually, clients want to be looking their best at all times for the high-definition cameras. In the past, his practice would do a lot of chemical peels to minimize pores and tighten lines since this treatment has relatively low downtime, but now, they’re doing deeper peels and procedures since people have more flexible schedules.

One popular new treatment is the Forma facial, also called the “Zoom facial,” which uses radio-frequency energy to cause skin plumping right away and long-term, it reduces fine lines and wrinkles and shrinks pores. Microneedling is a trendy treatment to rejuvenate skin and demand is up for the Morpheus 8 type, where the microneedles give off a radio frequency that stimulates tissues to tighten up. Dr. Chiu says Botox, fillers, LED light treatments and laser light treatments are all still being done and that more clients are becoming “regulars” these days.
