You might think you’re the most loyal partner in all the land, but you could also very easily be “micro-cheating.” As the name implies, it’s tiny acts of infidelity that could end turning into real infidelity if you’re not careful. Here are some common examples that you could be guilty of.
● Falling for thirst-traps. If you like, comment, or DM someone posting thirst-traps online, you’re micro-cheating. If you’re in a committed relationship, and that isn’t your boo you’re typing “soooo sexy” too, you’re messing up.
● Having active dating profiles. You can’t be all-in with your partner if you’ve still putting the feelers out on Tinder. No one believes you that you only check it when you’re “bored.” They make mobile games for that...
● Not inviting your partner to certain events. If you’re purposely not inviting your boo to things, you need to ask yourself if it’s because you know someone else will be there that you don’t want to see you locked down. Even if you’re not already cheating with said person, you’re micro-cheating on your partner by trying to keep things on the low.
● Stalking an ex. It’s one thing to still follow an ex on social media, it’s another to look at every one of their stories, liking all their posts, and casually DMing them. That’s not fair to your SO at all.
● Being protective of your phone. Unless you’re hiding the plans for their surprise party, you should be able to toss your boo your phone without starting to sweat. If you aren’t comfortable leaving your phone unguarded, that’s probably a red flag that you’re up to no good.
