#INTIMACY: Want a better love life? MAKE A PLAYLIST and GET IT ON!

Sex life in need of a little pick-me-up? Some bedroom music might be the fix you need. Research has shown music can improve our state of mind and reduce stress, but sex and relationship therapist Jackie Golob explains that playing music during sex or foreplay can also get several happy hormone chemicals in our brains going. “It may be an added turn-on for some folks and this can enhance arousal, desire and pleasure,” she says.

Ready to intensify your bedroom experience with music? You can’t just throw on any old music. You’ll need a carefully curated selection so you don’t wind up ruining the moment. To get the most bang from your sex playlist, try these tips:

Determine your desire - Before you curate your sex soundtrack, ask yourself what mood you’re going for. Do you want the sex to be familiar or experimental? Romantic or wild? Decide what you’re looking for in that moment and find the right songs to help you get there.

Match the music to the moment - If you’re going to start setting the mood at dinner or with a massage, kick off your playlist with relaxing tunes you know your partner will love. You may want to include “your song” and dance together to up the romance before taking things into the bedroom. On the flip side, if blunt, sexually explicit lyrics get you going, don’t hesitate to include those tracks as well. You might even want to create two playlists to carry you through the evening.

Make it a joint effort - Get your partner’s input in the music selection process. Collaborating on the playlist can be like a form of foreplay, where adding songs helps build anticipation for your time together.
