Step ONE: Get a good pre-nup.
Step TWO: Make sure they aren't married still - or at least wait until the legal separation is filed.
Just kidding.
But if you want to date someone way out of your league, you should read and consider some of this advice...
After this on and off lockdown there will be some folks that will be lowering their dating standards mostly because they’re lonely. Don’t be one of them. You deserve the best! In fact, you should be going after matches that are completely “out of your league.” Mostly because no one is out of your league.
The only reason you end up swiping left on someone you think is “too good for you” is that you lack self-confidence. But you don’t need to make yourself into a 10 to match with the best catches. You simply need to work on your insecurities. Here are a few tips on how to pull that off:
●Make your biggest flaw your most prominent feature. Instead of constantly worrying about that one feature you wish you could change, own it. Writer Barry Davret recommends looking “at your flaws through an empowering new lens.” For him, that meant concentrating on the advantages of being a quiet person instead of letting it stop him from dating up.
●Invent a proper reality. To heavily paraphrase from “The Art of Possibility” by Rosamund and Benjamin Zander, reality is what we make it. If your worldview is that you’re not good enough to date the knockout that popped up on Tinder, invent a new reality where you are good enough. Think about how you’re not only judging yourself too harshly but also giving this “perfect” person way too much credit. Change your dating criteria so that you’re the one that they should be worried about impressing, not the other way around.
