#SLEEP: We don't sleep if we live in these states... including OUR state!

Hurray for South Dakota — but put on some coffee for Hawaii.

The Centers for Disease Control suggests that adults get at least seven hours of sleep to stay as healthy as possible. But according to a survey, a good portion of the US isn’t in the Zs zone — of the 440,000 or so survey participants, only about 65 percent got seven-plus hours.

States that get the most sleep: South Dakota (with a 71.6% prevalence of healthy sleep duration of seven hours or more every 24 hours), Colorado (71.5%), and Minnesota (70.8%).

The ten worst offenders:

• Hawaii – 42.9% getlessthan seven hours a night.

• Kentucky and West Virginia – 41.4%

• Tennessee – 40%

• Ohio – 39.7%

• Michigan – 39%

• Alabama and New York – 38.6%

• Georgia and Virginia – 38%
