Former First Lady Michelle Obama posted a photo of a huge basket of veggies she received from First Lady Jill Biden straight from the White House Kitchen Garden... the very garden Michelle Obama planted for the first time!
In her Instagram, Obama showed the overflowing basket of goodies, which appeared to include things like kale, red cabbage, broccoli, and some root veggies. She captioned the post: “So thankful for this beautiful care package from our amazing @FLOTUS! These fresh veggies from the White House Kitchen Garden were such a wonderful — and delicious — surprise. Love you, Jill!”
Obama planted the White House Kitchen Garden in 2009 during her time as First Lady. It is located on the South Lawn and is home to fruits, vegetables, and herbs. It supplies the White House with about 2,000 pounds of food each year, and any food that the White House does not use is then donated to a charity in Washington, D.C.
