Never “normal” again? …A new survey found that 75% of respondents said they are afraid life will never get back to “normal,” and that the world would never be the same as it was before COVID-19. (Study Finds)
Go small …Seems the coronavirus pandemic has inspired many Americans to shop small. According to a new survey, 70% of respondents said they have made it a point to avoid big corporations and support small businesses during the last several months. And 79% said the pandemic has changed their thinking on how important small businesses are to their communities.
43% of respondents said the top way they’ve been supporting their local businesses is by ordering take-out and delivery. And over 50% said they have been tipping their delivery drivers more than they did before. 38% said they’ve been donating money to local businesses. Even though they have been supporting their local small businesses, 74% of those surveyed said they are worried that their favorite local spot may not survive. (SWNS)
Actors, athletes and more have teamed up to bring a women’s professional soccer team to Los Angeles.Natalie Portman and venture capitalist Kara Nortman plan to bring the Angel City team to the National Women’s Soccer League by 2022, which would bring the league to 11 teams. Eva Longoria, Serena Williams, America Ferrera, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Chastain, Lilly Singh, Uzo Aduba, and 14 former U.S. Women’s National Team players, including Mia Hamm and Abby Wambach, are also behind the effort to start the team. This seems like something out of a sci-fi movie … A restaurant in San Antonio Texas, has installed a "disinfectant portal" in its entryway. At the press of a button patrons of Alamo Biscuit Company are sprayed with a chlorine-based, skin-safe sanitizer mist that the owner claims kills 99.7% of germs. At the beginning of the week, Britney Spears posted a virtually makeup free selfie to Instagram with the caption: "Who would have thunk it?!?! After all this time in my life I’m just now learning that no makeup is the way to go ... I mean … a little makeup is fun but after spending so much time in hair and makeup chairs to look flawless ...
