Randoms-Half of Couples didn't know Partner's Job, DIY Cocktails, & More

TODAY IS:

  • Good Friday

What do you do again? A new survey found that 46% of respondents said they had no idea what their partner did for work – until they were isolated at home together.

Having to stay at home is tough on everyone, but it’s particularly tough if you are single and live alone. Even CBS This Morning anchor Gayle King can relate. In a recent interview, she talked about how being single during these uncertain times is “daunting.” She said the reason this is so scary is because “there’s no end in sight. That’s what’s so troubling about this.” She says it’s hard that she can’t visit her grown kids or her best friend Oprah. “Just the thought that I don’t even know when I will see them [her children] in person is upsetting. I don’t know when Oprah and I will be able to visit is upsetting. So, all the people that I really cherish the most, I don’t know when that is going to be,” she said. “That said, you know I sit here and, knock on wood, healthy … people are dealing with a whole lot worse, and I don’t minimize that.” (The Grio)

Comfort food … Earlier this week, Waffle House announced on Twitter that it was selling their special recipe waffle mix on their website. It took just four hours and the mix was sold out. Don’t worry, Waffle House fans. They’re cranking up production, with hopes of selling more soon. (The Takeout)

More comfort food ... If you’ve got a Steak ’n Shake in your area, consider making a run to the drive-thru -- because they want to reward your social distancing with free fries. All you have to do is ask. No purchase necessary, no questions asked. (MLive)

Comfort cocktails …Instead of sipping Cosmos with your besties after work, everyone has turned to virtual happy hours to have drinks and socialize with friends. Unfortunately, if you aren’t a bartender with a fully stocked bar, fancy cocktails are hard to come by. Don’t worry -- there’s a website for that! MakeMeACocktail.com will help you build a delicious cocktail with just the ingredients you have at home. You input all the booze you have, any mixers and food ingredients that you think would make a yummy drink, and the website will give you recipes for all the drinks you can make -- with instructions. Unfortunately, social media influencers have been sharing this secret website with followers and the site has since crashed because of all the traffic. If you can’t log on, don’t worry. They are working on a solution -- and you’ll soon be sipping some fancy spirits that will make all your virtual drinking buddies jealous. (People)
