New Coke comeback …You may not know this, but back in the '80s, Coke introduced something called “New Coke.” It was pretty much a disaster. New Coke was rolled out in 1985 … and lasted just 79 days before it was pulled from shelves. Well, the third season ofStranger Thingspremieres on Netflix on July 4th. The show takes place in the summer of 1985, the same year New Coke was introduced. It was such an important pop culture moment that there is no way the doomed drink could be left out of the season -- and to commemorate, The Coca-Cola Company is re-releasing New Coke in a very limited distribution. Just in time for Memorial Day Weekend grilling …While Americans eat 20 billion hot dogs a year, a survey found that 43% of us are too scared to find out what's in them. The survey found that women are more afraid of hot dog ingredients than men. 50% of women are scared to find out what's in hot dogs, compared to 37% of men. The survey also found that 33% of Americans avoid hot dogs because they think they’re made with low-quality meat, chemicals and artificial ingredients, and that 70% of Americans wish hot dogs were made with fewer ingredients. Speaking of hot dogs …It’s officially hot dog season. According to the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council, hot dog season begins on Memorial Day and ends on Labor Day. And where are a lot of those hot dogs eaten? Ballparks, of course. Major League Baseball fans are expected to consume about 18.3 million hot dogs and nearly four million sausages this season.
