Half of us are trying to lose weight … According to a new government survey, 49 percent of people ages 20 and older admitted to trying to lose weight over the past 12 months -- which is up six percent from just 10 years ago. The survey also found that 56 percent of women are trying to lose weight, compared to 42 percent of men, with rates increasing steadily for both men and women through the years. (WebMD)

The healing power of puppies … Universities are helping college students deal with stress … with therapy dogs. A recent study by the University of British Columbia found that student who spent time with the dogs reported lower levels of stress and higher levels of happiness and energy. “The results were remarkable,” says Stanley Coren, study co-author and professor emeritus of psychology. “We found that, even 10 hours later, students still reported slightly less negative emotion, feeling more supported, and feeling less stressed, compared to students who did not take part in the therapy dog session.”
We like going to grocery stores … Seems there is one area where people would rather go to the actual store than shop online … going to the grocery store. A survey found that 75 percent of adults said they go to a traditional grocery stores more than six times a month to buy food. Only 17 percent preferred shopping for groceries online.
