The Randoms-Take Your Pet to Work, Promotion w/o Raise & More

Would you take a promotion without a raise? Apparently a whole lot of people would. In fact, according to research by staffing firm OfficeTeam, a whopping 64 percent of employees surveyed said they would take a better job title -- without the better paycheck. Broken down by gender, 72 percent of men and 55 percent of women said they’d take a promotion without a pay raise. And by age … 72 percent of 18- to 34-year-olds were good with a higher title without higher salary, and 61 percent of those 35-54 were good with that scenario. The promotion without pay was the least popular with workers 55 and up … with 53 percent in that age group OK with it. (The Ladders)

When you have a hangover, do you call in sick or just tough it out? According to a new study, toughing it out is more common. Surprisingly, the study found that non-drinkers took more sick days, and were actually sick more often, than their drinking counterparts. Hmmm. (The Ladders)

Take your pets to work … How big a deal is it to take your dog to work with you? Apparently, it's a pretty big deal -- especially to Millennials. A new survey found that 51 percent of Millennial pet owners say they would consider a career change for a pet friendly workplace, and 37 percent of pet owners said they would give up vacation time and work-from-home days if their workplace would become pet-friendly.
