A funnel cloud was spotted in downtown Fort Lauderdale amid reports of tornadoes touching down in South Florida tuesday. I have to say, growing up in Minnesota, this stuff was pretty common in the spring & summer. But Florida? I mean, it happens and it's not necessarily uncommon, but for some reason we all pipe up when you hear a Tornado begins to develop in a downtown area with what we know about the science of tornados.
Either way, the video of this one forming in downtown Ft. Lauderdale certainly is an eye opener for weather geeks and enthusiasts. Ever see a Tornado? One of the biggest rushes ever & I can say I've seen a handful of them-Never gets old, but very scary!
