The work wedding planner Kristin Anderson does for her customers in the Chicago area ensures that everyone who attends the weddings ends up being well-fed and having a good time.
But Kristin's work isn't done when the party's over and the guests go home. Instead, she's gotten into the routine of wrapping up all the catered food left over from the receptions and delivering it to a homeless shelter.
In the planning stages of the wedding, Kristin gets the approval of her clients to take this extra step -- and then after things are finished at the reception, she drives the delicious food to DuPage Pads, a local organization committed to helping the homeless.
Thanks to Kristin’s creativity and thoughtfulness, dozens of people in need get treated to such special menu items as chicken picatta, roasted vegetables and pasta.
And while Kristin knows her donations can't feed everyone, she also knows it's a start -- and hopes it inspires others to give what they can. (WGN-TV)
