Actress Diane Delano, best known for her role on the television series Northern Exposure, as well as several films, has died at the age of 67, a representative confirmed to the New York Post on Monday (December 16) following TMZ's initial report.

Delano reportedly died at her Los Angeles home last Friday (December 13) after a battle with a brief illness, though her official cause of death has not yet been publicly released. The California native played Sergeant Barbara Semanski on the award-winning CBS comedy-drama Northern Exposure, which centered around residents of a fictional Alaskan small town, for 12 episodes from 1991 to 1995, having debuted in season 2.

Northern Exposure won seven Primetime Emmy Awards including Outstanding Drama Series (1992) and was nominated 39 times during the early 1990s. Delano's other television credits included roles on Popular, Days of Our Lives, St. Elsewhere, L.A. Law, Perfect Strangers, Married...With Children, Desperate Housewives, Monk, NCIS, Wizards of Waverly Place, 2 Broke Girls and Two and a Half Men, as well as the made-for-TV movie Fumbling Thru Pieces, which won her an Indie Series Award in 2012.

The actress' film credits included The Wicker Man (2006), Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003) and The Ladykillers. Delano was also credited for voice-over roles in the animated television shows Ben 10: Alien Force, Teen Titans, American Dad! and Superman, as well as video game characters in Dead Rising 3, Lego DC Super-Villains and Rage 2.
