Americans aren’t exactly rushing to buy shiny new gadgets this holiday season. A recent YouGov survey found half of U.S. adults (50%) don’t plan to purchase any tech at all — and interest in big-ticket items is pretty lukewarm. Just 19% are eyeing a new smartphone, only 14% have a laptop or tablet on their wishlist, and just 13% are hoping for a home appliance like an air fryer or vacuum. Why the slowdown? Most people seem happy with what they’ve got — 59% reported zero tech issues with their current gadgets.
