TeeRoy's 2 Cents:
- It's always heartbreaking when the world learns about an up-and-coming artist's work too late.
- Rest in power, Big Floyd.
- Hip-Hop Nation was already grieving. Now we have even more reason.
It turns out the late George Floyd had a connection to the Houston hip-hop scene.
The man killed by Minneapolis police on Monday once played a key role in the development of the Screwed Up Click, the group led by DJ Screw. Floyd was featured on some of theScrew Tapes alongside group members like Lil’ Flip and affiliates like UGK. He was also a solo act under the name Big Floyd and later worked with a group called the Presidential Playas.
