Two men have been arrested for the February shooting death of Georgia jogger Ahmaud Arbery.
Gregory McMichael and his son Travis McMichael have been charged with murder and aggravated assault. The arrests come just a day after a video of the shooting circulated online, leaving many people asking why the two suspects hadn't already been arrested. (CBS News)
Waycross, Georgia D.A. George E. Barnhillsaid in a memo that the two McMichaels and their neighborWilliam Bryanwere in "hot pursuit of a burglary suspect" when they shot Arbery as he was jogging on February 23rd. Barnhill has also recused himself from the case, citing a conflict of interest, since Greg McMichael used to work as an investigator in his office. (USA Today)
Meanwhile, fellow runners plan to honor Arbery tomorrow (Friday) -- which would have been his birthday by running 2.23 miles. (CBS News)
