TeeRoy's 2 Cents:
- Meek will raise even more awareness when hisFree Meekdoc comes to Amazon Prime.
- This honor is about a lot more than just selling some records. It's about making a difference.
- It would have been easy for Meek to be selfish and try to just move on. Instead, he's making the effort and taking the time to share his story with the world.
Meek Mill was honored at NYU on Monday night for his work in the field of social justice.
The Philly rapper was one of six individuals recognized at the seventh annual McSilver Awards. The honor goes to people “prominent in their fields and unafraid to use their platforms to help create a more equitable and just world.”
Meek’s contributions include the criminal justice reform group he founded and co-chairs, REFORM Alliance. By sharing his story with the public and VIPs like Philly 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin and Patriots owner Robert Kraft, Meek’s been able to raise over $50 million.
