MEEK MILL: Judge Shuts Down Travel Request

TeeRoy's 2 Cents

  • This would be a lot easier to swallow if the court could provide a good reason for the refusal.
  • While he's on probation, he's still subject to the same rules as anyone else. Whether he should still be on probation at this point, so many years later -- is a whole different story.
  • If history is any indication, Brinkley isn't really the type to be swayed by public pressure.
  • Brinkley needs to move on. She is seriously obsessed.
  • He can still be courtside for all the home games.

Meek Mill recently got a reminder that he’s still under court control -- he was told he couldn’t fly to Toronto to see his 76ers play the Raptors in the NBA Playoffs.

The Philly rapper Meek who is on probation, followed protocol when he put in a formal request to travel up north for the game. The probation officer had no issue and signed off on the paperwork. But then Judge Genece Brinkley blocked the shot, and Meek’s Eastern Conference dreams were dashed.

On Instagram, 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin called out what he considered a biased move. He wrote, “Judge Genece Brinkley -- I know you have a vendetta against Meek Mill and are obsessed with trying to control every aspect of his life, but did you really NOT approve him to go to rep the Sixers in Toronto for the game? We filed with your court as soon as the schedule came out since you need to approve travel to Canada! Since you didn’t respond to numerous phone calls we sent lawyers to your courtroom today which you purposely ignored!!” (TMZ)
