TeeRoy's 2 Cents:
- Long live KOD.
- Another strip club might pop up in the same spot, but there will never be another KOD.
- It’s the DJs and the dancers that make a club what it is. And sometimes the chicken wings. KOD is gone but the spirit will live on.
- Running a strip club is like a license to print money. How do you go bankrupt when people literally come and make it rain each night?
- What are the odds you'll hear the term embezzled in the next few months?

It’s the end of an era for a Miami institution. The storied strip club King of Diamonds has closed its doors for good.
The gentlemen’s club has been having problems making ends meet for at least a few months, and was sued for foreclosure in August. Social media pages tied to the club have been dark for a few weeks now, with the last post going up on Instagram on October 17th. The next day, the club was ordered to pay a lump sum of $305,000 and monthly payments of $85,000 tied to a bankruptcy. When KOD failed to pay up, an issuance of writ of possession was filed on November 1st and an eviction notice was issued.
On Monday, notice was served to the club and locks were changed. The Miami New Times reports that sound systems, liquor cabinets and nearly everything of value was already emptied out.
KOD is famous among hip-hop artists and fans. It’s where Blac Chyna got her start as a dancer. It’s also been mentioned in songs by Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, The Game, Mase, Nicki Minaj, Tyga, 2 Chainz and more. (Miami Herald)
