When the story about the death of the young man from the Bronx made headlines, Cardi was moved to the point where she donated $8000 to a crowdfunding campaign set up for Junior. The campaign has raised over $150,000 so far to cover funeral expenses and help support the family.
Cardi wrote on Instagram, "#JusticeforJunior -- these Bronx streets are ruthless. What pisses me off the most is that these Bronx cops be harassing the [crap] outta people when they see a boy bleeding to death and ask what happened?”
Cardi also posted an Instagram video where Junior’s mom, Leandra, thanks her for the donation. Cardi wrote, “Sheesh this made me tear [up] and made me feel soooo special like I feel mad special.”
