Josh Hawley Unseats Claire McCaskell In Missouri U.S. Senate Race

Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley is headed to the U.S. Senate.  In a bitterly fought campaign that garnered national attention with control of the chamber at stake, the Republican knocked off two-term incumbent Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill.  The 38-year-old Hawley was elected attorney general in 2016 and oversaw the felony case that resulted in the resignation of former Missouri Governor Eric Greitens earlier this year.  Prior to running for attorney general, Senator-elect Hawley was a law clerk with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court for Chief Justice John Roberts and was an associate professor at the University of Missouri Law School.
