More than 54 million Americans may soon be going hungry according to Feeding America. If you or someone you know is facing a food crisis, here are some resources to help:

You can call the National Hunger Hotline at 1-866-3-HUNGRY or 1-877-8-HAMBRE (Spanish) between 7 am and 10 pm to get information about local food resources such as meal sites, food banks, and other social services. You can also text 97779 and include the word "food" or "meals" to get a list resources near you.

Feeding America has a food bank finder to help you find a meal program near you, and many areas have low or no-contact options.

FoodFinder is an app that helps families with children find free food assistance programs near their homes.

Foodpantries.org has a national database of pantries and grocery resources.

Meals on Wheels helps people with diminished mobility obtain meals. It's usually for those age 60 and older, but age requirements vary.

The Salvation Army operates food pantries and meal programs across the country. Enter your zip code and select emergency services to see what is available in your area.

SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) is a federal program that provides assistance in purchasing food for those with low or no income. Check the site to see if you are eligible. Your local food bank can also help with the application.
