The hope is that 2021 will totally get us back in front of a bunch of stages watching live music, I know I can't wait to drink a beer, hang out with friends and see some bands crank it up! Sevendust just announced that they will be playing two livestream shows in April. As a long time fan of Sevendust, I am super amped up b/c they are playing both Home and Seasons start to finish in their entirety April 10th and 11th in Orlando.
Fun fact alert...Sevendust has only played one livestream gig and that was when their latest record, Blood & Stone, dropped last October. As a fan of music, I appreciate the way bands have pivoted to livestream events using social media to reach fans as a result of Covid-19. Is it the same as seeing a band live? No BUT I do think that these types of performances shouldn't be kicked to the curb when music venues open back up this year. Think of how accessible bands have been with what they've been doing over the past year. Rather than only being able to see a live show when bands are touring, they've been able to answer questions from fans, play short sets and have much more interaction with us!
