The legend Tom Petty, has passed away. After suffering cardiac arrest earlier at his home in Malibu, it has been reported that he has died around 8 o'clock tonight.
After confusion earlier today on updates of his health, it was confirmed by various news sources, including CNN, AP and LA TIMES and also, by spokeswoman Carla Sacks who said: "Petty passed away Monday night at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles after he suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu"
He was 66.
Petty recently joined with his band-mates, the Heartbreakers for a 40th anniversary tour which he finished up at the Hollywood Bowl in September.
He will certainly be missed.
