Helene is not a name the Southeast will easily forget. There's been so much damage in both hurricane and tropical storm modes...with casualties in five different states. Our fellow Americans need help! This should be top of mind for everybody - at least those not directly affected. So let’s make that happen!
The first organization that comes to mind is the American Red Cross. As always, they have teams out assisting as we speak. You can also text REDCROSS to 90999. It used to be an automatic $10 donation, but now they’ll text you right back with a link so you can decide exactly how much to give.
AmeriCares reminds us every $1 donated can provide $20 in aid.
Project HOPE will use your donation to provide clean water, supplies, support for medical clinics, mental health care, and more to survivors.
If you'd prefer to focus on a specific state, there's the Florida Disaster Fund and North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund.
