On Saturday, I took my daughter to see the new LEGO movie. And within 5 minutes of sitting down... a familiar feeling started to rise up.
My heart started racing.
My hands started to go numb.
Very dark thoughts started in my mind.
...where are the exits...
...who is nearby us...
...how fast can we get out if we needed to...
Ugh, I hate the feeling of a panic attack. But I know to breath through it. Distract my mind... and it will eventually pass.
And when we got home, I pulled out one of my "coping with anxiety" books. It was a good reminder.
If you find yourself dealing with anxiety give this a quick read through. And hopefully next time you feel that panic coming on you'll remember these easy steps to get past it.
