Bruno Mars Will Receive 2017 iHeartRadio Innovator Award At iHeartRadio Music Awards

With every album he releases, and in between, Bruno Mars continues to showcase his tremendous talent in the music industry. Over the course of his career, he has released hit after hit under his own name, has helped create chart-topping songs for other artists, and has consistently given fans some of the most incredible live performances. That is why the iHeartRadio Music Awards will honor the Hawaii-born megastar with its most prestigious award of the evening: the 2017 iHeartRadio Innovator Award.

iHeartRadio will recognize the 21-time Grammy Award nominee (and multiple Grammy winner) for his unparalleled contribution to popular culture and the music industry. In addition to a highly anticipated performance, the critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, producer and director who recently released his second single "That’s What I Like from his third studio album 24K Magic, is also nominated in the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards' Best Cover Song category. Bruno is nominated for "All I Ask," which he helped pen for Adele's latest album 25. Fans can vote for Bruno by visiting iHeartRadio.com/Awards.

"I'm incredibly honored to be presented with this year's iHeartRadio Innovator Award," says Bruno. "I'm excited to take the stage for the first time at the annual iHeartRadio Music Awards."

Previous recipients of the iHeartRadio Innovator Award include Pharrell Williams, Justin Timberlake, and U2. And like all of the Innovators previously mentioned, Bruno has achieved many accomplishments and milestones over the course of his career that make him more than worthy of the honor.

Bruno is one of the best-selling artists of all time, selling over 170 million singles. He has 35 Hot 100 hits under his belt, and his 2015 collab with Mark Ronson "Uptown Funk" is the longest-leading Billboard Hot 100 single of the 2010s, and is only the 10th single in the Hot 100’s 57-year history to spend at least 14 weeks at Number 1 (not to mention its THREE Grammy Awards). And, according to Billboard, Bruno Mars scored his first five Hot 100 No. 1s faster than any male since Elvis Presley.

Mars also joins the list of talented artists to perform during the Super Bowl Halftime Show, even performing alongside Beyoncé and Coldplay.

The fan-fueled fourth annual iHeartRadio Music Awards will feature the biggest names in entertainment, bringing the music of the iHeartRadio app to life on Sunday, March 5 live on TBS, TNT and truTV at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT from the historic Forum in Los Angeles. The show will also be broadcast simultaneously on iHeartMedia stations nationwide and across the iHeartRadio digital music platform.

Bruno has had a number of hit songs of his own, but he also helped write, produce and create hits for other artists including CeeLo Green, Flo Rida, Justin Bieber, and more. Now, music fans can listen to all of their favorite songs whenever they’d like to, on demand, with iHeartRadio Plus and iHeartRadio All Access Powered by Napster.
