The 911 Dispatcher Who Walked A Couple Through The Birth of Their Daughter During Hurricane Irma Were Reunited
Imagine going into labor during a severe hurricane with no way to get to the hospital, or have any medical help to be able get to you? That was reality for 23-year-old Tatyana Watkins and her boyfriend David Knight. Knight had called 911 to see if any help could be sent to their home, but due to the high winds, emergency workers couldn't reach them. The dispatcher, Desiree Farrell, stayed on the phone with the couple to walk them through the delivery of their daughter, Destiny. She then conferenced in a doctor to help complete the procedure. During iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina: Celebrating Our Heroes, baby Destiny, her parents, and Deseree were reunited during a very touching on-stage moment.
DOES ANYONE HAVE TISSUES?! Asking for a friend...
Luis Fonsi Held Nothing Back During "Despacito"
With only a few months left in 2017, it's safe to say that"Despacito" easily takes the title of "Song of the Year," and Luis Fonsi reminded us just how great the chart-topper is during his iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina: Celebrating Our Heroes Performance. During Fonsi's set in Miami at American Airlines Arena, the singer/songwriter performed his songs including "Corazon En La Maleta," "No Me Doy Por Vencido," and his booty shaking JAM "Party Animal."
But Luis ended his performance strong by gracing everyone's ears with his world-dominating ear worm "Despacito," with dance moves as equally as amazing as his hit song, reminding us all what a masterpiece it truly is.
Camila Ooh-Na-Nah
Queen Camila Cabello slayed the stage in Miami during iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina: Celebrating Our Heroes, and OMG she was awesome. Not only was there no crying in the club, but there were no bad thingsabout her performance, and now we're ready to jump on a plane with her to Havana (see what we did there). Camila brought all the energy and good vibes to the stage with her as she performed some of her new music, kicking things off with "Havana," then performing "OMG," "Bad Things," and ending with "Crying In The Club." She also thanked all of the first responders for their incredible service in the aftermath of all of the recent natural disasters.
CNCO Just Became Your New Favorite Boy Band
During their performance at iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina: Celebrating Our Heroes, CNCO proved why they are your new favorite boy band. The guys were in perfect harmony, not only vocally, but they were also in sync with their choreography. The guys commanded the stage with songs like "Tan Fácil," "Quisiera," "Mamita," and "Hey DJ," ending with their hit "Reggaeton Lento," and we are now CNCO fans for life.
Sargent Daniel Mogro Who Saved A 12-Year-Old's Life After Being Stuck In The Car While Suffering A Severe Asthma Attack
During Hurricane Irma, it was difficult for emergency workers to help everyone in need due to the extremely severe conditions, and high volume of 911 calls. But thanks to one brave Miami police officer Daniel Mogro, a 12-year-old boy's life was saved. Danielle Stark's son was suffering a severe asthma attack during the hurricane, with his last words to his mother being "Mommy, I’m gonna die. I love you so much. I’m gonna die." Officer Mogro, who was on his way to another assignment, but quickly changed plans when he noticed the family in distress in their car. Turning on the sirens and helping to rush the young boy to the hospital where they had shut down the whole pediatrics section just to resuscitate him, the officer had helped to save his life. Stark calls Officer Mogro "a guardian angel" and "more than a hero. He is a blessing."
Remembering Sgt. Steven Perez
During an emotional tribute on stage, Sgt. Steven Perez was remembered for his service and having lost his life in Houston following Hurricane Harvey. Sgt. Perez drowned in his car after being trapped by Harvey floodwaters in an attempt to drive to work. Perez's family and Houston officer Jennifer Smesny were on stage to help remember the fallen officer.
Diplo Closes Out The Night With Arena-Size Dance Party
There could have been no better way to end this year's iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina: Celebrating Our Heroes than with an enormous dance party, especially when Diplo is behind the DJ booth dishing out beats, which included a number of Latin hits like "Mi Gente," "Rompe," "Gasolina," and even the Spanish version of Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow."
